Cupcakes, Brides & Cutie Pies

Wow...life has been busy! I did manage to get a few card creations in these past few weeks though :)  Guess I have been influenced by my friends having kids and the royal wedding lol.  May I present Cupcakes, Brides & Cutie Pies!

Cupcakes

These were made with the Create A Cupcake stamp set and coordinating punch that was in the Occasions Mini that was finished last month.  Fingers crossed that it's in next year's catalogue because I just LOVE it. I will admit that I borrowed the idea for these from my friend Dawn, The Inked Stamper. Go check out her site! She is an amazing scrapbooker who has been featured in Canadian Scrapbooker and is about to open her own scrapbooking store here in St. Albert.

Brides

Ok so the yellow one is just a "love" one, but I made it with weddings in mind. On the Bride to Be card I embossed the stamp with gold and then coloured it in with a gold metalic marker, you know, the kind you have to shake before using. I remember these from elementary school!

Cutie Pies

In honour of my friends who are about to give birth I created these two cards.  The Welcome Baby one reminds me of vintage cards for some reason. I used Crystal Effects on the diaper shirt to make it shiny.

Celebrate!

Things have been hectic around our house, what with spring break and one birthday after another. I am hopeful that I will now be back on track creating new cards!

First task of April was to get my son's birthday invitations done. But what to do for a 9 year old? SU has a new line of Extreme stamps perfect for your male pre-teen! Here I've used the Extreme Skateboard stamp and my son LOVED it! Yay mom! lol

Just Moved

I'm on a mission to make a card for each stamp set... today's card & postcard set is based on the Loads of Love & Loads of Love Accessories sets. Well lookie at that - they're both still available from SU! lol

I was having fun adding layers to the card but when it was done I realized that it may not be the most practical card to mail since there are so many 3-D details on it, so I created a postcard to go along with that would be much less expensive to send in the mail.

Monochromatic Elegance

Sometimes less is more.  I simply LOVE the effect of the brushed silver light grey, accented with a stamp embossed in silver. Truly elegant!

I was also messing around with a camera app for my iPhone  :)

Fun Times!

We had so much fun tonight at the make & take coaster class! The ladies were so creative with their coasters.  Unfortunately I didn't have the presence of mind to take pictures. Next time!  Already planning out the next class on Saturday March 19th...muahahahaaaa ;-)  Looking forward to seeing you there!

Friends & Butterflies

I'm so excited about this card! It was created as a birthday party invitation for my daughter, but by leaving the inside message blank it could be used for many different occasions. Glitter, embossing, pastels... it's all in there.

Card Of The Day

Today's creation is an all-purpose baby card!  By all-purpose I mean it could be used as a "happy new baby" card, or it could be a baby shower invitation or a birth announcement.

I've had the hand and feet wheels hanging around for ages and finally got to use them.  Hooray for patience and creativity!  This card was fairly quick to assemble even though it looks as if there is a lot of detail.  I used crystal effects to cover the "sweet one" punch-out to add a bit of shine.

Dinosaur!

Just call me the Queen of Retired Sets.  I'm going through all my old stamp sets and seeing what I can come up with.  Last night's creation is this really cute dino-themed card using the Prehistoric Pals stamp set (and the letters are from the I'm Here set). I made it as an invitation but if you leave the inside blank it would make a great birthday card.  My favourite part are the little party hats which were cut freehand out of white paper and then coloured with marker.

Prehistoric Pals

The inside invite section was printed using the old SU "Write Me a Memory" volume 2 font set.  See? Queen of all things retired. :)

Getting Started

Once again, welcome to my blog! I am busy getting things set up for this new endeavor of mine, planning and scheduling classes and workshops, but in the meantime, here are a couple samples of my past work...will post more soon.
